Media Coverage For Women’s Sports Has Nearly Tripled In Five Years, According To New Research

 Wasserman found that media coverage of women's sports had nearly tripled.  

 Their report shows 15% sports media coverage across broadcasts, streaming, social media, and digital publications in 2022.   

 Previous longitudinal findings found coverage averages of 5.7% for ESPN's SportsCenter and 5.1% for TV news through 2019.

 has changed with the advent and proliferation of digital and social media as well as streaming .

 The roughly 22,000 hours of women's sports coverage on streaming services like ESPN+, Peacock, Amazon Prime  ,,,

 and Paramount+ in 2022 is encouraging since younger fans are flocking to them.

 In 2022, women's collegiate and professional sports were streamed 22,065 hours, up 5,124 hours from 2021.
