During her most recent visit on The Tonight Show, Anne Hathaway experienced a really uncomfortable moment.
On Monday, the 41-year-old actress spoke with Jimmy Fallon.
Hathaway inquired as to whether or not the viewers had read the novel that served as inspiration for her newest picture,
The Idea of You. Even though she probably thought someone would have read it, the audience's reaction was just embarrassing. Fortunately, Fallon intervened just in time.
"Has anybody here read the book?" the Devil Wears Prada actress inquired.
Everybody in the crowd just stared at her, and the stillness resounded.
As soon as Fallon became aware of the uncomfortable situation, he attempted to brighten it.
Online users were so impressed with Hathaway and Fallon's handling of the situation that they showered them with plaudits on social media.
