Auburn transfer Tre Donaldson joins Michigan.

Tre Donaldson, transferring from Auburn to Michigan, led the Tigers in assists last season, boasting an impressive 28.4% assist rate, despite playing less than 20 minutes per game.

Donaldson averaged 6.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 19.3 minutes, shooting 47.1% from the field, 41.2% from three, and 78.4% from the free-throw line.

His game resembles former Michigan guard DeVante’ Jones, using quickness to drive to the lane, finish over taller defenders, and effectively run ball screens.

Donaldson has NBA range from beyond the arc, a solid mid-range shot, and is a skilled passer, capable of finding cutting players with decent bounce passes and lobs.

Donaldson joins guard George Washington III and forward Will Tschetter, adding depth to Michigan's roster, along with incoming freshman guard Durral Brooks.

He’s one of four recent commitments to Michigan, alongside fellow transfers Danny Wolf and Rubin Jones, plus 2024 four-star guard Justin Pippen.

Michigan coach Dusty May is still looking to fill roster spots and is linked to several players in the transfer portal, with more additions expected in the coming week.
