Billy Joel special will air again after abrupt cut-off on CBS

Billy Joel special will return to CBS following an unexpected termination. By Aliza Chasan  

Billy Joel's 100th consecutive Madison Square Garden concert was cut short for some viewers on Sunday, but CBS announced that it will re-air the show.   

In several parts of the country, Joel was halfway through "Piano Man" when the local news started.   

CBS announced on Monday that Joel's entire March 28 performance will air again in its entirety on Friday, April 19, at 9 p.m.   

ET, "due to the overwhelming demand from his legion of fans." Joel's performance is available to watch on Paramount+ as well.  

Julie Holland, Vice President of Communications at CBS, said in a statement that "last night's Billy Joel special ended approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones due to a network programming timing error."   

"We express our regret to Mr. Joel, his supporters, our partner stations, and our viewers whose enjoyment of the show was disrupted by the previous track.
