Charlie Puth Reacts to His Name-Check on Taylor Swift's 'TTPD'

Puth, who is 32 years old, published the singer's post from Sunday, April 28, in which she names him and discusses her "overwhelmed" reaction to the success of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

On the title track of her album TTPD, the 34-year-old pop sensation mentions the musician by name, singing about how she and an ex-lover "declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist."

Swift had previously published carousel photographs of herself producing the album, and Puth uploaded the sixth slide of those photos along with her reaction.

The photo featured Swift wearing headphones that were printed on a disc as she sat in an interior recording booth.

"The Tortured Poets Department" was scribbled in black marker on the side, alluding to the title tune where Puth is named.

The single, which was released on Friday, April 19, along with Swift's eleventh studio album, features the singer teasing an ex-lover on her affinity for old typewriters and her comparison to famous poets.

"You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist," she says on the single, referring to the "See You Again" singer.

Along with the late poet Dylan Thomas and the famed musician/writer Patti Smith, the 14-time Grammy winner mentions them on "The Tortured Poets Department."
