Chocolate Lava Cake for Two

Ingredients:

1. 2 ounces of dark chocolate 2. 1/4 cup unsalted butter 3. 1/4 cup powdered sugar 4. 1 large egg

1. 1 large egg yolk 2. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 4. Pinch of salt

1. Optional: powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dusting 2. Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease two 4-ounce ramekins with butter and lightly dust with cocoa powder or flour.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and well combined.

Whisk in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated.

Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.  Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, and gently fold until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.

Carefully remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes.  Using a knife or offset spatula, run it around the edges of the cakes to loosen them, then invert each cake onto a plate.

Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder if desired, and serve immediately with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy your delicious Chocolate Lava Cake for Two!
