Corrected Kobe Bryant statue base errors outside Lakers arena.

We fixed several mistakes on the marble base of Kobe Bryant's statue outside the Lakers' downtown arena.

The alterations were made for the Lakers' regular-season home finale versus Golden State on Tuesday.

Lakers fans already take photos and meet at the 19-foot bronze statue, inaugurated in early February.

In Bryant's January 2006 81-point game box score, the names of retired NBA players Jose Calderon and Von Wafer were misspelled on the base, along with “Coach's Decision.”

Another place on the statue's complex base, which displayed several of Bryant's accomplishments, had minor formatting errors.

A copy of Bryant's autograph now reads “Kobe,” not “Kobe 24.” Bryant's bronze statue wears his first-half No. 8 jersey.

Vanessa Bryant, Bryant's widow, says the statue is the first of three planned to honor Bryant and his daughter Gianna,

who died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 with seven others.
