Could Cowboys Fans Expect Murray Treatment for Zeke This Season?

The 2022 Dallas Cowboys season may have elements of past Arlington seasons.

Maybe it's comparable to the 2018 campaign, when Jerry & Jason started with a subpar group of wide outs before bringing in the much-needed attention that brought Amari Cooper around halfway through the season.

On defense, fans would like a 2021 version led by Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, who should be held accountable for stealing on the field.

However, the 2014 campaign comes to mind after investing a first-round selection in Tyler Smith this past draft to strengthen the offensive line.

To recap, Zack Martin was selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and quarterback Tony Romo—later known as a fortune teller—led Dallas to the top spot and a dramatic playoff loss against Green Bay.

But more likeness to that season's running back, DeMarco Murray, will be seen in the comparisons than between Romo and Dez Bryant.

Murray was selected in the third round out of Oklahoma in 2011 and was beginning his contract year in 2014.

He was a key component of Dallas' attack coming into the season and had demonstrated growth every year.
