Courtney Love Calls Taylor Swift “Not Important,” Swipes Beyoncé, Madonna, Lana Del Rey

The potency of the adage "go large or go home" is once again proven by Courtney Love, who has started a new BBC radio series.

In an extensive interview published today in the UK's Standard, the ex-frontwoman of Hole offers her thoughts on numerous prominent figures in the music business.

Love gets her pound of flesh from Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Madonna,

and recent Coachella headliner Lana Del Rey—to reference her 1998 song "Celebrity Skin"—but she also gets it from people at the newspaper.

"Although she may provide a refuge for young women and is likely the current Madonna, her artistic merit is unappealing," Love clarified.

Compared to Love's stance on the Folklore singer a little over two years ago, the contrarian view on Swift is a significant change.

Love wished Swift a "happy birthday" and described her as a "aspirational huge role model for many young women" in a Facebook post from December 22, 2021.

With Love's "occasional hair twin/neighbor" also featured in the post is a photo.
