Dallas Cowboys Sign Journeyman Running Back To One-Year Deal

The Dallas Cowboys have signed free agency NFL running back Royce Freeman to a one-year contract.  

Freeman, 28, was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.  

Freeman played in 14 games for Denver that season, rushing for 521 yards and five touchdowns.   

Those remain his career highs.  

In 2019, Freeman received more opportunity, participating in all 16 games and rushing for 496 yards and three touchdowns.   

In 2020, his final year with Denver, Freeman carried for 170 yards. In 2021, he carried for 169 yards for the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans  

In 2022, with Houston, he carried for 117 yards.  

$21.75 million contract with the Tennessee Titans during free agency. This leaves only Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, and Snoop Conner
