The Buffalo Bills unexpectedly released many key veterans prior to the start of free agency. However, it's uncertain whether safety Micah Hyde, who has spent seven seasons in Buffalo, will also depart.
Hyde is now a free agent, since his two-year, $19.25 million contract terminated after the 2023 NFL season. While the 33-year-old is considering retirement, he intends to continue his annual charity softball game.
On Wednesday, April 17, the seasoned fan favorite shared the news via Instagram Stories. He went on to say, "Bills Mafia, although I'm currently not with the team, I want you all to know how special this is to not only myself,
but my whole family."Over the previous three years, our tireless energy has propelled our game to new heights,
and I'll be eternally grateful for your steadfast support while my future remains undetermined. I know this: I can't wait to see you all on May 19th!"
Hyde mentioned that he's planning something "special" with this year's donations. Money will be distributed to "each participating player with a foundation or donor advised fund."
