'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe 'really sad' over JK Rowling's stand against trans agenda

After seeing Rowling's negative remarks about the transgender agenda on social media, Radcliffe expressed his sadness to The Atlantic, stating that it's "really sad" given how beloved her body of work is.

In the end, it breaks my heart, the actor stated, because when I think of the woman I met, the moments we shared, the books she authored, and the universe she built, I feel immense empathy.

Emma Watson and Radcliffe are among the "Potter" actors who have spoken out against Rowling's position,

which holds that biological women would be marginalised if the transgender community and its ideals are fully accepted.

After Rowling became famous in 2020 for her criticism of an article that used the term "people who menstruate" and argued that the word "women" should be used instead,

Watson firmly stated in an X post that "trans people are who they say they are" in relation to the transgender community. Radcliffe has also been vocal in her support of the transgender community.

Earlier this month, Rowling heavily criticised the two actors on X while discussing a recent study by Dr.

Hilary Cass of the U.K. National Health Services. The study found "no good evidence" for the medical push to transition children's gender, and Rowling noted that this push had been "built on shaky foundations."
