How LeBron James and the Lakers are planning to end Denver's dominance against them

Over the last seven meetings—four in the Western Conference Finals last year and three opportunities for vengeance that the Lakers missed—the blueprint hasn't changed much.

As a rule, the game has been tight up until the Nuggets start their late-game offensive, after which it becomes lopsided.

The Lakers' late-game problems against Denver were clearly part of the problem-solving portion of preparation that began on Thursday.

Basically, we need to step up our game overall. The opponent is a fantastic squad, that much is certain, according to LeBron James.

This is a championship-caliber squad that has been there and done it, so they know how to win in the clutch.

Consequently, we need to maintain complete focus and self-control for the full forty-eight minutes, or whatever long it takes.

It will be difficult, but that is the nature of the postseason. We expect it to be.

So far, the Lakers' struggles against the Nuggets have provided plenty of predictable plot points for the show.
