Jeff Bezos Drops $16 Million on Another Manhattan Pad to Create a ‘Vertical’ Dream Home

Tells the tales of high-end real estate that you might have overlooked.

In the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan, across from Madison Square Park, Jeff Bezos is adding to his residential holdings with the purchase of an additional apartment at a 24-story boutique condominium.

The purchase, for $16.13 million, adds to his existing four-floor holdings.

The chief executive officer of Amazon purchased the 212 Fifth Avenue property on February 25 through a limited liability company that was incorporated in Delaware.

The deed that was submitted to the city on Thursday indicates that the closing took place on April 7.

Negotiations took place outside of the market. The unit was bought for $11.25 million in April 2018 by an anonymous seller who is represented by a limited liability company, according to property records.

This is one of just two 20th-floor residences. According to property records, Mr.

Bezos paid a total of $80 million in May 2019 through the same LLC for a three-story penthouse and two apartments on the 21st level, which together measure 10,079 square feet.
