Lainey Wilson: CMA Entertainer of the Year and More

After collecting nine Country Music Association nominations at the 57th Annual Country Music Prizes on Wednesday (November 8), 

Lainey Wilson was able to walk away with five prizes, including the most prestigious title of Entertainer of the Year. 

This year has been a very eventful one for Lainey Wilson. For the country singer and songwriter, this honor is the crowning achievement of a year that has been filled with success.   

During her victory speech, Lainey Wilson, who was overcome with emotion, stated, “I’ve been in this town for twelve and a half years, and it finally feels like country music is starting to love me back.” I am completely and utterly enamored with it.

Lainey Wilson continued by stating that she considers the number nine to be her lucky number due to the fact that she has been nominated for nine Country Music Awards and has had other significant moments in her life that revolve around the number nine. 

Additionally, it was the year when I composed my very first song, as Wilson explained. “This is the year when I purchased my very first pair of bell-bottom sneakers.

That was the year that my mother and father took me to Nashville for the very first time, and it was also the year that I went to the Grand Ole Opry for the very first time.

She went on to say, “It was the year that my mother and father brought home a horse named Tex.
