Patrick Mahomes will be beaming broadly when he goes to bed tonight.
This is because Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs after they traded up to pick No. 28.
Worthy's 4.21 40-yard sprint at the NFL Combine cemented his place as a first-round selection. That surpassed John Ross's previous record.
In fact, Mahomes gave Worthy a congrats in March after he broke the 40-yard sprint record.
After saying that, Mahomes hurried to social media to congratulate Kansas City on their selection. The MVP of three Super Bowls merely shared the running emoji.
Worthy is obviously pleased with how things turned out, even though he hasn't spoken with Chiefs media yet.
Worthy declared himself to be the "perfect" player for the Chiefs before to the NFL Draft.
