Major Coachella set rule broken by Lana Del Rey results in a $28,000 punishment for the music event

After breaking a significant regulation, Lana Del Rey faces a $28,000 fine from Coachella.

A representative for the City of Indio informed TMZ that the substantial charge was imposed because the Summertime Sadness hitmaker's act lasted longer than 13 minutes on Friday night.

Although 13 minutes might not seem like a significant issue, performers have tight guidelines to follow regarding show timings.

The event incurs a fixed fine of $20,000 for the first five minutes after curfew as a result of an agreement with Goldenvoice.

A $1,000 per minute fine is then assessed after that. Friday and Saturday curfew hours are one in the morning, while Sunday curfew hours are midnight.

The festival this year was also different from the previous several in that citations decreased by 43% and arrests decreased by 20% over the first weekend.

Fans of Del Rey were thrilled with her performance, which included 19 of her internationally popular songs, even though she had broken the curfew.

The two sang duets on Del Rey's classic tune Video Games and the latter's popular ballad Ocean Eyes.
