Memo released Sunday night by ESPN details Major League Baseball's intentions to fix its uniform crisis,
which began with alterations to the standard pants and jerseys this spring and resulted in numerous complaints from fans and players alike.
In a note sent out to players on Sunday by the MLB Players Association, the most noticeable changes are the following:
a return to larger lettering on the back of the jerseys, an end to gray tops and bottoms that don't match, and an end to the new Nike jerseys' tendency to soak up sweat.
The pants, which were heavily criticized in spring for being see-through, will also undergo alterations by the start of the 2025 season.
The upcoming changes were announced by the union in a letter to players. The letter blamed Nike and the introduction of the Vapor Premier jersey,
which was marketed as having improved performance but is still poorly received by players.
