NBA rumors: Klay Thompson, Warriors 'took note' of Jrue Holiday's $135 million contract.

Five-time All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors were paying careful attention to Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday's recent contract extension, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

In the most recent edition of The Lowe Post, Lowe reported that Thompson and the Warriors "took note" of Holiday's four-year, $135 million extension with the Celtics on April 10 (13:40 mark).

Thompson is presently poised to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason.

During the 2023-24 season, he completed the remaining of a five-year, $190 million contract signed with the team in 2019.

Thompson has spent his whole career with Golden State, when he was picked with the 11th overall choice in the 2011 draft.

The 34-year-old sharpshooter is coming off a season in which he battled with consistency, scoring an average of 17.9 points per game, his lowest total since 2013.

He also shot 38.7 percent from three points, the second lowest percentage of his career.

Head coach Steve Kerr even experimented with using the veteran as a reserve, with him coming off the bench in 14 games this season.
