NCAA title for Olivia Dunne's LSU gymnastics: 'Best day ever'

Olivia Dunne is a champion in her country. The TikTok sensation competes for LSU's gymnastics team, which won its first NCAA championship on Saturday.

As one of five LSU gymnasts to earn a score of at least 9.95 in the final rotation, Konnor McClain led the Tigers to victory with his 9.9625 on the beam.

Despite not participating on Saturday, Dunne was essential to LSU's successful season. Earlier in the season, she was selected the SEC Gymnast of the Week.

Following the triumph, Dunne celebrated on her Instagram story.

She posted, "Natty champs baby!" in a post. One more person said, "Best day ever."

After three rotations, LSU, which finished fourth last year, was behind third-place California by 0.113 points and trailing Utah by 0.037 points.

However, senior Sierra Ballard opened the fourth and final rotation with a career-high 9.950 in her sole routine of the day.

Aleah Finnegan, Haleigh Bryant, and Kiya Johnson all tied the mark, assisting the Tigers in setting a program record on the beam with a 49.7625, which also guaranteed LSU's national title.
