Netflix's The Witcher will end with Season 5, while Liam Hemsworth prepares for the series debut.

The Witcher will finish soon. After starting production on the fourth season with a table read, The Witcher's official X (previously Twitter) account revealed a fifth and final season. Season 5 "will cap this epic show," the statement said.

"See you on The Continent," it said. Production on the Netflix series has been rocky, but bookends are coming. Geralt of Rivia star Henry Cavill stated on Instagram in October 2022 that he would leave the program after three seasons.

In the caption, Cavill, 40, wrote, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas,

I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4 He said he had “reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt” and was “enthusiastic” to watch Liam Hemsworth play him.

“Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find,” the Man of Steel actor said.

The same day, Hemsworth, 34, announced on Instagram that he would replace Cavill in the fourth season.

As a Witcher fan, I'm thrilled to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I'm honored that he's passing me the reigns and enabling me to take up the White Wolf's blades for the next chapter of his adventure,"

the Hunger Games star captioned his photo, which contained Cavill's resignation logo. Hemsworth praised Cavill for portraying “this beloved character.”
