Nuggets' Jamal Murray questionable for Game 5 with calf strain

After a left calf strain put Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray on the injury report as questionable,

his playing status for Monday night's Game 5 of their playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers is in doubt.

In Saturday night's 119-108 loss to the Lakers, Denver's 11-game winning streak over LeBron James and the Nuggets came to an end while Murray was tending to a calf injury in the fourth quarter.

Although he remained in the game, the team's injury report for Sunday listed Murray as questionable.

Despite making the game-winning jump jumper in Game 2, Murray has battled with his jump shooting during the defending NBA champions' first-round playoff series.

Following career-bests of 48.1% shooting from the field and 42.5% from beyond the arc in the regular season, Murray has shot 38% from the field and 21% from beyond the arc in the series against the Lakers.

As a result of injuries to his hamstring, knee, ankle, and shin, Murray missed 23 games—including seven consecutive games in the final stretch—this season.

The Lakers, on the other hand, may be acquiring a bench player. They finally listed defensive mainstay forward Jarred Vanderbilt as questionable on Sunday due to a right midfoot sprain, more than two months after the injury.
