Olivia Dunne, LSU win gymnastics national title: ‘Best day ever’

Olivia Dunne can add another line to her résumé.

To finish off her senior year, Dunne and the LSU Tigers earned the school's first-ever gymnastics national title, earning 198.2250 in a closely contested competition.

"Best day ever!" wrote Dunne, the social media and name, image, and likeness (NIL) sensation, on her Instagram Story following the victory.

LSU nearly beat out California, who finished second with an overall score of 197.8500.

Haleigh Bryant of the Tigers, who led the way in the Final Four, did it again on Saturday, scoring 39.7125 in the all-around.

"Every team was out there fighting for their lives and all four teams, it could have gone any of four ways out there today," Jay Clark, the head coach at LSU, told ESPN.

"I think as much as I feel for what happened to Oklahoma in the semifinals, I think it made for a championship that became

so packed with emotion because every team out there believed they could do it, and it was just tremendous." Aleah Finnegan also finished first on the floor with a 9.9625 score.
