Olivia Rodrigo and Her Dad Saw Depeche Mode and The Cure Live.

Olivia Rodrigo, 20, may be a modern-day pop princess, but she just admitted in a new interview with Vogue that she has been experiencing a little bit of the '80s by going to Depeche Mode and The Cure concerts with her father.

Jia Tolentino and Rodrigo were in A-1 Record Shop in the East Village when Rodrigo was thinking about a The Cure LP she had discovered during her crate search. She added at the time, "I'm going to see them with my dad in two weeks."

He's introducing me to all the bands he saw when he was my age," she continued, mentioning Depeche Mode as one of the recent legacy acts they had seen perform live.

Rodrigo elaborated on how her parents were a major factor in shaping her musical influences in other sections of the profile.

They weren't just into '80s gothic new wave, though; they also liked alternative music from the '90s and the early '00s, including No Doubt, The White Stripes, and Weezer.
