According to police investigations, rapper Chris King, who worked with Trippie Redd and was close friends with Justin Bieber, was slain early on Saturday morning in Nashville. His age was thirty-two.
The musician, whose real name is Christopher Cheeks, was with an unidentified 29-year-old guy in an alleyway between Hayes and Church streets in Nashville around 2:30 in the morning when three men allegedly tried to rob them.
In the altercation, King and the 29-year-old guy were both shot; however, the 29-year-old managed to survive.
King was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he passed away, after being discovered in the parking garage of the adjacent Hayes Street Hotel.
King's old roommate Bieber uploaded a re-post of a picture of the two on Instagram with the caption,
Love you bro. It hurts, this one. Please remember to pray for his family. Brother, I'll see you in paradise.
The loss of his friend was also felt by Trippie Redd, who wrote, "I am so hurt rn I can't even think I love you bro come back!!!!!" I'm unable to relax.
"He always had the best energy, and the fact that he had so many friends shows how much I appreciate you all for standing by my brother, who is one of my best friends ever.
