Reasons why RB should be brought back by the Cowboys Zeke Elliott

This offseason, there is "mutual interest" between the Dallas Cowboys and former running back Ezekiel Elliott, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

In light of that, the Cowboys should bring back Elliott for the following three reasons.

It never seemed right to see Elliott, who wore the legendary Cowboys star for seven seasons, wearing a New England Patriots helmet during the 2023 season.

The 28-year-old should appropriately end his NFL career at home if the Cowboys allow him to make up for that injustice.

Since he's only been gone for a year, the players and staff make up the vast majority of the squad.

It's difficult to find a drawback to returning to Arlington other than elevating Elliott to the position of top back.

With just four running backs on the roster and only 56 total carries, the Cowboys will undoubtedly add to the position.

Elliott struggled at first with the Patriots, save for an 80-yard touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 3.

Elliott averaged more yards per game (46 yards) and carries (14) out of the backfield throughout the final eight games.

He averaged five receptions for thirty yards while playing a considerably larger role in the passing game, earning two receiving touchdowns (just one short of a career best).   If the Cowboys don't ask him to carry the load, Elliott could be a positive contributor next to a rookie back.
