Sam Heughan 'emotional' as he teases Outlander season 8 dates

The "bittersweet" thoughts that Sam Heughan has regarding the eighth season of Outlander have been expressed openly and honestly by him.

In the coming year, the Scots actor will return to the set to film the final episode of the enormously popular historical time-travel drama, which will be the final installment of the series after a decade of being on screen.

We have previously reported that the 43-year-old actor has expressed his desire to pursue new chances in the future, even though he has claimed that he will be devastated when the program comes to an end.

It is not yet time for fans to be wallowing in self-pity over the imminent 'Droughtlander' they will have to endure because the second half of series seven has not yet been broadcast, and it is believed that it will be released in the early years of 2024.

On the other hand, during an appearance on Graham Norton's Virgin Radio show over the weekend, the actor representing Jamie Fraser disclosed many significant dates that may provide a hint as to when the final season would be released on television.

"We wrap up at the end of the year, in October, and that will be it," Sam Heughan added. " That will be it."

The experience has been fantastic, it has altered the course of my life, it has been an incredible adventure, and it is going to be bittersweet.

Sam Heughan, who was born in Dumfries and Galloway but grew up in Edinburgh, has recently been keeping pulses racing with his involvement in Channel 4's smash hit high-tension thriller The Couple Next Door, which is expected to be the most viewed drama on the channel in 2023.
