The Alienware x-series gaming laptop is a more modern, slimmer, and lighter version of the conventional m-series laptop. It's the thinnest Alienware laptop ever made without sacrificing gaming capability, and it's comparable in build quality and portability to other high-end ultra-thin laptops such as the Razer Blade.
This Alienware x16 laptop has a 16" 2560x1600 display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color space, and G-SYNC compatibility, a 13th generation Intel Core i7-13700H Raptor Lake CPU, 16GB of DDR5-6000MHz RAM, and a 1TB M2 SSD. It carries a one-year Dell warranty.
The mobile RTX 4080 is an extremely powerful GPU, ranking second only to the RTX 4090. When compared to desktop GPUs, it is almost as powerful as an RTX 3080 / RTX 4070. The x16 has a 2560x1600 display with a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz.
At that resolution, you should be able to get at least 60 frames per second on almost any game currently available. If you want to try ray tracing, you'll need a high-end NVIDIA card like the 4080, and DLSS 3.0 will improve performance even more.
The RTX 4080 GPU has the same TGP rating as the GPU used in the full-sized Alienware m16 laptop. That's particularly impressive given the x16's overall smaller footprint.
Although the GPU is nearly equal, there is a little tradeoff in CPU performance. The x16 uses a less power-hungry Intel Core i7-13700H CPU than the m16's i7-13700HX.
At least one Alienware laptop is among our top gaming laptops for 2024. The x16 is an excellent option to get a small gaming laptop similar to the Razer Blade without paying Razer-level prices.
