Spotify reports various single-day records for Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department'  

Taylor Swift's anticipated new album "The Tortured Poets Department" is breaking records.

Fans streamed the global superstar's 11th studio album on Spotify on Friday, breaking single-day streaming records.  

Spotify reported that Swift's latest album was the most streamed album and artist in a single day.  

The streamer said Saturday on social media that "The Tortured Poets Department" became its first album to reach 300 million streams in a day.  

On Friday, Spotify's most streamed song was "Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)," the album's lead tune.  

At midnight on April 19, "The Tortured Poets Department" was released, followed two hours later by 15 more songs.  

At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1, Swift revealed her excitement for the album after keeping it a secret.  

It makes me proud. She claimed she was excited to share it. "I appreciate your vote for artist of the year.
