SURPRISE: Former Cowboys standout running back Ezekiel Elliott Signs With An Unexpected AFC Team

After being cut earlier this year, former running back Ezekiel Elliot of the Dallas Cowboys has finally found a new home.

Elliott was released by the Cowboys on March 15, becoming a free agent following eight seasons.

Additionally, the RB has consented to sign a $6 million, one-year contract with the New England Patriots, per Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Elliott's alleged loss of step and washout from his extensive wear and tear during his tenure with the Cowboys raised concerns about his inability to sign a new contract.

He was, however, reportedly being eyed by a number of teams as a possible signing for short-yardage scenarios.

The three-time Pro Bowler and 2016 All-Pro will be wearing a new uniform for the first time in his professional career after what must have been a fruitful visit with the Patriots earlier in the offseason.
