Swifties queue up for special letter from singer in boost for UK’s Record Store Day

Signs reading "from the desk of Taylor Swift" were the reason why Taylor Swift admirers waited in line outside record stores yesterday for Record Store Day.

The musician's most recent record, Friday's The Tortured Poets Department, came with a limited edition of the "handwritten" note.

The most-streamed artist in a single day, with the most-streamed album and tune in a single day, was Swift, according to Spotify.

The album achieved a new record on Spotify, surpassing 300 million streams in a single day.

Record Store Day (RSD) is a promotion for local record stores; however, the album was not released on that day, the note did commemorate it.

It says, "Happy Record Store Day!!" as the message. My deepest gratitude for letting The Tortured Poets Department into your life and record collection.

With each page flip of the lyrics book, every hidden idea that went into this creation—my aim is to make something you'll want to hold onto forever.

Being able to confide in you about my emotions is a privilege. Taylor, with love.
