TAYLOR Swift will tie Madonna for the most chart-topping records by a female act in the UK when she hits No. 1 on Friday.
After three days on sale, the superstar's 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, is already the fastest-selling album of 2024, ensuring its top spot.
It means she has surpassed Beyonce's Cowboy Carter, which was the previous year's fastest-selling album with 40,000 copies.
According to the Official Charts, she is also presently at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 on the singles chart with Fortnight, which features rapper Post Malone, the title track The Tortured Poets Department, and So Long London.
Taylor, 34, has 11 No. 1 albums to her credit, owing primarily to the popularity of her re-recorded tracks, known as Taylor's Version, when the rights to her back catalogue were purchased without her permission.
Only The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams, and Elvis Presley have had more top-selling albums.On Friday, she will overtake David Bowie, U2, and Sir Rod Stewart, who have already achieved 11.
It comes 18 months after the Anti-Hero singer had the biggest opening week of her career, with her album Midnights selling 204,000 UK chart copies in seven days.
It is even more successful in the United States, where the new album sold 1.4 million copies on Friday alone, instantly becoming the best-selling album of the year.
