Taylor Swift wins the most at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards over Shakira.

At the 40th MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Taylor Swift won every televised category she was nominated for. Shakira and 'NSync performed to celebrate Latin music and hip-hop's 50th anniversary.

Swift received the video of the year for her smash song “Anti-Hero” from her latest album “Midnights.” She is now on a record-breaking billion-dollar stadium tour. She won best director, pop video, and song of the year. 

The 33-year-old singer praised her partners, including ‘NSync, who reunited after a decade, video editor Chancler Hanes, and cinematographer Rina Yang, in her victory speech.

LL Cool J and Jack Harlow left the VMAs to be hosted by Nicki Minaj. Minaj accepted her best hip-hop prize for “Super Freaky Girl” and offered a touching statement. 

The nearly four-hour VMAs celebrated 50 years of hip-hop with performances by Lil Wayne, Metro Boomin, and a concluding medley of hip-hop icons.

Mary J Blige gave the global icon award to Diddy, aka Puff Daddy and Love. Blige called Diddy an industry icon, and he and his son King Combs performed his hits. Diddy praised his followers for their support throughout his career in his acceptance speech.

The VMAs honored Latin music's global supremacy with prizes for Anitta, Peso Pluma, and Karol G. Karol G, the first female singer with a No. 1 Spanish-language record, won outstanding collaboration with Shakira for “TGQ.” 

Shakira, who played a popular medley, got Wyclef Jean's video vanguard award for her global music accomplishments.
