Taylor Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is daggers wrapped in a lullaby

On Friday, the Grammy-winner released her highly anticipated 11th studio album on Apple Music before midnight.

On the surface, the 16-track album is relaxing, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, as most Swifties do,

you'll find a chaotic and complicated stream of consciousness where Swift navigates heartbreak, longing, anger, and self-reflection.

The album's 12th track, “loml” (Internet slang for “love of my life”), features Swift singing, “I wish I could un-recall how we almost had it all.”

After singing “love of my life,” she says, “You're the loss of my life.”

This chapter of the author's life is closed and boarded up. After wounds heal, there's no retribution.

She said that many were self-inflicted after consideration. “I believe tears become holy when they become ink on a page.

After sharing our saddest story, we can move on. Only pained poetry remains.”
