Taylor Swift's "So Long, London" is one of her most iconic songs.

Taylor Swift always has her most heartbreaking songs on her fifth album. Fans have spotted this pattern since 2012's Red.

The fifth song on that album, “All Too Well,” is considered her masterpiece.

Despite looking at albums before Red, the trend was there. Swift said she didn't realize she was doing it on an Instagram Live before Lover's release.

"As I made albums, I guess I was just putting a very vulnerable, personal, honest, emotional song as track five," she stated.

Because her fans noticed, she kept the Swiftian tradition, and it's the track they expect.

A Swift album's fifth track is usually a depressingly beautiful song that crushes.

The fifth tracks in Swift's career include “Cold As You” from her self-titled debut album, “White Horse” from Fearless, “Dear John” from Speak Now, “Delicate” from Reputation, and “tolerate it” from evermore.

These songs have some of the singer-songwriter's most cutting lyrics, which may cut anyone's heart.
