The Backstory of Randy Travis's New Single "Fool's Love Affair"

Even though Randy Travis's legendary, Hall of Fame voice was temporarily muffled in 2013 after a stroke, we haven't heard the last of him just yet.

A new Travis single titled "One In a Row" was out in May of last year, and another one titled "Lead Me Home" was released in August of this year.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Randy's debut single, "On The Other Hand," a new song titled "Fool's Love Affair" has been released.

Charles Monk, a DJ and former music publisher, is the one behind "Fool's Love Affair" on SiriusXM.

Randy Travis joined Monk Family Music as a songwriter before inking his deal with a major label.

Keith Stegall, who was an early supporter of Randy Travis when he was deemed "too country," and Charlie Monk co-wrote the song "Fool's Love Affair.

It was probably around 1983 or 1984 when Randy Travis was chosen to sing on the demo of "Fool's Love Affair," and that's how the song came to be.

Charlie Monk had been playing a cassette tape version of the song on SiriusXM from time to time, but in 2019, while he was organizing his office, he uncovered the original multitrack master recording.
