 Defying labeling, Ms. Stewart has thrived “not as a Superwoman,” as Joan Didion phrased it, “but as an Everywoman.”  

 At 81, she seems determined to shed her “domestic goddess” character and become tough Martha, a hottie who will loosen her inhibitions like an ear of corn.  

 Ms. Stewart has teased her four million Instagram fans with goofy, sensual photos in recent months.  

 Over seemingly nothing, she wore a halter-style apron to promote her Green Mountain Coffee relationship.  

 She teased her viewers by pouting beside her pool.  

 She followed those shenanigans with a provocative throwback, her 1996 Spy magazine cover, a siren on a seashell with knees on her chest to cover her nudity.  

 The iconic Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, released on May 15, features Ms. Stewart on one of its four covers.  

 She is not the first over-60 cover model. That honor went to Maye Musk, 74. Ms.
