The Patriots are looking for a 'unprecedented deal' to move out of the third pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to reports.

According to ESPN, the New England Patriots are "open for business" with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but they want a "unprecedented deal" to trade out of that spot.

With director of scouting Eliot Wolf stating last week that the Patriots' phone is being monitored to learn about prospective offers at No. 3, the only way they'll move is if another club outbids them.

The Patriots recognize that a top-three pick in the NFL Draft is a franchise-altering decision - for better or ill - and that a "blockbuster" deal is the only way they would leave it.

Many analysts believe the Patriots will select one of three quarterbacks: LSU's Jayden Daniels, North Carolina's Drake Maye, or Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, who won the national title.

Wolf and Jerod Mayo, who will succeed Bill Belichick as head coach, realize the significance of the decision, and everyone in the NFL knows that a club is only as good as its quarterback.

ESPN reported that Mayo and "some top decision-makers" knew that this No. 3 pick will be linked to their legacy in New England.

Despite selecting Sam Howell last season, the Commanders are likely to choose a quarterback.

It does not hurt to pick up the phone. We'll see if Wolf and the Patriots get an offer they can't refuse when it's their turn to play Thursday night in Detroit.
