Tom Holland stars in 'Romeo & Juliet' on the West End.

Tom Holland is making a comeback to the live theater scene.

It was revealed in February that the Spider-Man hero would play the iconic main male role in a new stage rendition of William Shakespeare's cherished play.

The Jamie Lloyd Company's show will run from May 11 to August 3 at London's Duke of York's Theatre.

According to Deadline, tickets for the twelve-week engagement sold out in less than two hours, and the production will allegedly move to Broadway after its London run.

According to The Mirror, "Romeo and Juliet will head to Broadway after its London run, with details to be announced in due course.

While director Jamie Lloyd is known for his minimalist translations of classic texts, the star of what is simply another Romeo & Juliet production is unquestionably its starring actor."

This follows the unveiling of the remainder of the cast, which includes newbie Francesca Amewudah-Rivers as Juliet and Freema Agyeman from Doctor Who as Nurse.

Following the announcement of the cast, The Jamie Lloyd Company made a statement condemning the “barrage of deplorable racial abuse online directed towards a member of our company.”
