Understanding Every Zodiac Sign by Element

Astrological signs can be interpreted numerous ways: You might see them as a wheel from Aries, the zodiac's infant, demanding to be heard, to knowledgeable Pisces. Teenager Virgo is in the middle. You can also learn about their traits by comparing them to friends or celebrities.

Our ancient predecessors thought that these four elements made up the planet and that each zodiac sign had a distinct role in the cosmic order. The signs are divided into four elements—fire, water, earth, and air—with three signs per element that convey its nature differently.

Each element has a cardinal sign for initiation, a fixed sign for stability, and a changeable sign for alteration.

Metaphors are easy to use to describe fire indications. Still, we term them “fiery,” both to praise and insult. Creation and destruction are clear fire effects. Fire can either heat or destroy your home.

The Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius

Earth signs are physical, unlike other zodiac components. Earth-born goods like precious stones, harvests, and clay have material value. We can touch, build, and share it. We can trust the physical world in a nonexistent way out of our minds.

The Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Air signs are smart and talkative. They specialize on intangibles. Breathing is the body's most essential and invisible function. Thoughts are air. Language is air. Air is possibilities, talks, connections, and transmission.

The Air Signs: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius

Every living thing needs water. Water can be used for cleansing and purification. It can cause floods, deluges, and devastating damage. Water and the subconscious are both impenetrably deep, infinitely broad, and flow in many ways. Emotion is water.
